Make Your Own Polished Portrait: Family Craft Day

Join us for Make & Take Crafts, including: "Finish the Venus de Milo" coloring pages, make your own osselets (Haitian jacks), and make your own Polished Portrait with air-dry clay. This family fun day is recommended for kids of all ages and is free with paid museum admission. Members are free! Gallery Chats: A Look at Germaine Berman’s Sculptures

Join Greg Pierce on the second floor of Berman Museum for a presentation discussing the current bronze sculptures on display in Polished Portraits: The Bronzes of Germaine Berman, the different
casting methods, and Mrs. Berman’s life as part of the French Resistance.

Gallery Chats: Firearms of the Individual Soldier

In this month’s Gallery Chats, learn more about the individual firearms of the American soldiers from the American Revolution through World War II. This program will be a walking presentation through each of the museum’s galleries and will last for one hour.

Admission to this program is free with paid admission and free to members. Tours will start in the Lobby at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM.

Wabi Sabi, a cat in Japan, had never thought much about her name until visiting friends asked what it meant. When her owner answers that it is difficult to explain, she sets out on a journey to find the meaning of her name. Join Berman Museum's education department staff to learn the unique world view that is wabi sabi during the reading of “Wabi Sabi” by Mark Reibstein, learn about the Japanese traditions that go hand in hand, and participate in a fun craft!

These readings will take place in the Arts of Asia gallery by Berman Staff. This program is free with paid admission.

Celebrate National Flag Day

Celebrate America and our flag with a visit to Berman Museum. On June 14, in honor of National Flag Day, the first 25 families or groups to visit Berman Museum will receive one 3’x5’ American flag to proudly display at home or in your organization.

On display in the lobby will be historic American flags. Come learn the history, admire the beauty, and pay tribute to our nation’s flag.
This activity is free with paid admission. Members are free. Flags are limited to the first 25 groups.

This month’s Gallery Chats will focus on Mr. Berman’s sculptures with emphasis on the artists Antoine Bofill, James Earl Fraser, Elie Hazak, Charles H. Humphries, Karl Kanba, Frederic Remington, and Charles M. Russell. Admission to this program is free with paid admission and free to members.

Berman's Boos Bash

Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 27. Berman’s Boos Bash presented by Sunny King Automotive Group will be a Halloween Bash you won’t want to miss! By attending this event, you will be helping further the Berman Museum’s long range plan for a beautiful, educational exhibit hall redesign. Have no fear, this event is still providing all the fun of “Sudsfest”. Craft beer and local restaurant sampling will remain the main focus of this fundraiser! For this year’s event we have added the extra element of Halloween spook. We don’t want to give too much away right now so keep your eyes on our social media platforms for more details! Sponsorship and restaurant packets will be available soon.
