Snapshots of D-Day Gallery Talks
Every Sunday, 2:00 PM
Berman Museum, Changing Exhibit Hall – 2nd floor

On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, fighting Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion. By day’s end, the Allies gained a foot-hold in continental Europe. The cost in lives on D-Day was high. More than 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded. Their sacrifice allowed more than 100,000 soldiers to begin the slow, hard move across Europe.

Join the staff for a closer look at the day that changed the course of history during WWII and the brave men and women that gave so much for our freedom. Explore the newest exhibit, Snapshots of D-Day, with Interpreter Chris Williamson and see amazing artifacts from that day.

No reservations are required, free with Museum admission.  $5/adult; $4.50/senior citizen; $4.00/child.  WWII veterans and members are free.
